How To Create A New Clan

We’ve added the ability to create and manage clans and clan memberships from the Killzone Shadow Fall website. Here’s a quick guide to get you started.

  1. Make sure you are logged into the Killzone Shadow Fall website.

  2. Click on the 'Clan' option in the left-hand navigation menu.

  3. Click the ‘Create Clan’ button.

  4. In the form that pops up, fill out your clan details. When you are done, click on the ‘Create Clan’ button.

Note: The numbers in the lower-right corners of the input fields indicate how many characters you have left.

  5. Now you can invite members to your clan. There are two ways to invite members: you can search for them by their PSN name or select them from your friends list. When you are done, click on the ‘Send Invite’ button.

Note: Only members who have played Killzone Shadow Fall at least once can be added.

  6. Congrats, you are now a Clan Officer of your new clan!

How to install the new free DLC maps

Install the full game, including single player component

If you do not own Killzone Shadow Fall yet and wish to sample the free new multiplayer maps during the open week trial, make sure to download the entireopen week trial client, including the single player component. The new maps re-use certain assets from the single-player component and will not be playable without it.

Download the maps using a PSN account that matches the region of your game

On the PlayStation 4, downloadable content (DLC) is region-specific. It will only work with a copy of the game matching the region of the DLC. For example: if you own a US copy of Killzone Shadow Fall, it will only work with US DLC.

Furthermore, the region of a PSN account determines which PlayStation Store can be accessed. With a US PSN account you can access the US PlayStation Store and buy US-region DLC; with a UK PSN account you can access the UK PlayStation Store and buy UK-region DLC; and so on.

Occasionally, confusion arises when a player with a PSN account from region A purchases a game from region B (for instance, by importing it) and then tries to add DLC obtained from the PlayStation Store in region A. The game itself will run, but any DLC the player downloads from their local PlayStation Store will be from a different region than the game, and consequently fail to work.

When downloading DLC, please make sure you do so with a PSN account that matches the region of your copy of the game. To identify the region of your copy of the game, you can check the code on the spine of the box. Below is a list of region codes for Killzone Shadow Fall:

  • CUSA-00002: Europe
  • CUSA-00008: UK
  • CUSA-00065: Asia
  • CUSA-00085: Japan
  • CUSA-00190: US
  • CUSA-00191: Latin America

Once you have downloaded the DLC to your PlayStation 4 console, you can play it from any PSN account on the same console – even PSN accounts that do not match the region of your game or your DLC.

How To Get Started With The Public API

As of version 1.5, Killzone Shadow Fall has a REST API (programming interface) which allows you to directly interact with the game servers.

Currently we're exposing the following:

  • Access to all stats of all players (competitive, co-op and clan)
  • Access to clan information (clan tags, members, etc.)
  • Access to clan match information (which clans fought, who won, etc.)

Examples of what you could do with this if you have some programming experience:

  • Create a forum banner that shows your stats (we've created an example for this here)
  • Integrate stats in your Twitch.tv live stream (e.g. show stats of players in a clan match)
  • Make your own clan tournament rules
  • Create your own clan page that shows stats for your clan
  • Show more / different stats than Killzone.com on your web page
  • Do an extensive stat comparison between you and your friends on your web page
  • Create graphs of stats over time (you will need to track history in your own database)
  • Create your own community challenges (take a stat snapshot of participating players before and after the challenge)
  • Create an iOS or Android application

The full documentation for the API can be found here.

Graphics assets (in Photoshop format) can be found here.

If you have a great idea but are missing an API call to implement it, let us know on the forums and we'll see what we can do!
