I'm pretty sure xbox next and PS4 will have faster blu ray drives than PS3. Like u said sam, PS3 blu ray drive 1st gen, so it's pretty slow compared to new ones. A faster blu ray drive can improve loading time and also allow it to read bigger blu ray discs than a current dual layer blu ray. Some time ago i read about 200GB blu ray discs

I said IF this is actually true (Look at the link i posted along with the article before posting) then next generation multiplatform games (Released on the ps3 i meant) could look similar to some Ps3 titles like Uncharted, Killzone or God of war.
