Re: Sony Personal 3D viewer!!

I would love to test it out briefly. But I would never buy one for every day use as I don't like the idea of having a screen so close to your eyes, seems like it would be damaging for eyes. No doubt the glasses are an incredible innovation. I am still dizzy over the fact that the screens look like see through glass like a normal pair of reading glasses, but when turned on a screen appears, AMAZING.

^ I love the idea of immersive 3D, I have no issues that screens are close as really it's just the light being focussed into your eyes through lenses, which is how we see normally.. so no big deal... light is light....

Here's something that will do your head in....

what does the back of everything look like when you're not facing it... really your vision is only an interpretation in your mind of light reflecting off a surface... so without your minds interpretation of it what does it look like... I imagine a universe without colour, very dark..... and who's to say what's in front of you is actually in front of you, maybe the minds interpretation of distance is not determined in what we consider as spacial quality in our concious mind, but rather say, a chair in front of your is actually the distance from you to the moon or even on the other side of the universe, or atleast part of it, and our minds collective interpretation simply sees that chair in front of you but in reality you're looking at different parts of the universe and the picture of distance in front of you is only the interpretation of yours and other's minds.

And also, what if matter is simply an interpretation by our minds of intersecting wavelengths of engergy and the physical limits of the universe determined by the wavelengths collectively intersecting at specific points and affecting and affixing the other wavelengths, and your mind is merely a viewpoint at a particular point of the energy matrix, and your physical movement and interraction within the world is determined wholly by what you and others believe, meaning yours and others minds fix points of engergy within the universe and actually create the universe that you see around you.

I'm definitely keeping my eye on the Personal 3D viewer.
Little bit pricy for me though. I think I'm going to wait till the prices drop.

The only thing that's kinda holding me back is the fact that i'm using a turtle beach headset, which is one of the best quality headphones for gaming.

What i read in reviews was that the implemented heaphones in the 3D viewer isn't 'bad' but could've been better, compared to  the Viewer itself, which is the most immersive piece of technology till this day.

If they only sold the Personal 3D viewer 'without' headphones, so people who already have better quality headphones can use this along with the Viewer.

I'm just spoiled with my headphones, can't play without em, lol.

Re: Sony Personal 3D viewer!!

What about a microphone? I know they're intended for more than just gaming, which is probably why they don't have one, but the lack of a mic would kill it stone dead for multiplayer surely?

Anyway Patrick, let us know your review.

Re: Sony Personal 3D viewer!!

Got turned on to these via the PlayStation Blogcast a couple weeks ago.  They are now a must have item for me and I will start saving my pennies.  Official website (US) has them listed for MSRP of $799.

As for the mic, I do not believe it comes with one...but if there is no way to connect one somehow I will just use the PS Eye since it has a pretty decent mic built in.

This is someone elses review, but I thought I'd put it up for a bit of an intro....

This guy raises some questions about comfortability over extended play... I hope I'm not going to experience any problems myself...

I'll be dissappointed if the sony store hasn't got one in today... only a few hours until the store opens so I can call them to see if its arrived, then I'll have to drive 2 hours to get there if its in...

There is no KZ3 review in conjunction with this product on youtube atm... :smileysad:

I hope the sony store won't think I'm a hog when I want to test it for over an hour... hahaha!!!

So I'll definately be taking my PS3 up there, I hope they will supply coffee and nibbles, and a nice comfy recliner for me to do extended play!!! Of course they'll do that for me.... surely..... lol

They do sell em again in the US store.
Checked out the Dutch store, but they aren't available yet.

It's a shame you can't wear it with a glasses lol. I'm sure there will be even better ones in about 5 years.

If they're gonna lower the price, i'm definitely going to buy one, but for me right now 800 $ is a bit too much, despite the amazing immersive experience.

You can wear it with glasses.^

Apparently today was a public holiday and couriers weren't running, so I'll have to check with the store tomorrow.
