Going to try KZ2 ...

I played KZ3 before I played KZ2.

KZ2 just felt like the successor to KZ3 to me. Shame I was playing 2 year old game at the time so it wasn't as lively as KZ3. I really wish I played KZ2 when it came out.  Custom games with server lists are a huge improvement on KZ3 matchmaking. The spawn system is a lot better too in KZ2. The classes are really good too apart from the assault class. Classes aren't too overpowered, therefore there is more reliance on skill rather than relying on the class to play for you, which makes it a more enjoyable experience for me.

The Melee isn't broken like it is in KZ3. The sab/inf is a downgrade on KZ2. There is no ops but I can live with that because of custom games. The ADS is useless in KZ2 which is ok if you can adapt to hipfire.

All of this just seems like KZ2 is the successor to KZ3. I am just unhappy that I didn't witness the mayhem of KZ2 in its peak, because I get more enjoyment on a deadish KZ2 than a lively KZ3.

Excellent feed back folks & thanks. Good to know KZ2 actually has "My Rank Only" it's good for getting your feet wet. And thanks for the heads up on the M4 pistol.

Yeah but tbh most of the people playing at your rank would most likely be CIC already on another acct so probably not gonna make much of a difference wether you use that option or not other than obviously you will have a similar amount of unlocks most likely.

Skills not the issue, I've loged plenty of time in KZ3 & years of FPS. Unlocks make a difference, if I' have the peashooter & player X has the assault rifle well ...

Besides I've played BF, no ranked servers there so you just know it will be a challange @ 1st till you unlock

You'll have the m82 from the very start so you should be ok. If the other players are noobs though then use the sta18 to get the m4 at the start.

 Minner's stated switch your browser filter to "my rank only" but If you're having trouble finding games switch it all ranks and world wide.

Also, hip fire 90% with heavy emphasis on burst firing.  Play around with your sensitivity while going against bots..Mine was set at 50% x/y for more stablity.  Been playing a ton of BF 3 and tried playing killzone 2 the other night and I felt really slow so it might take a bit of time to get used to.  I also forgot how crazy 32 player matches were as well.  What's nice about kz 2 is that MOST of the players are around the objectives

I found it much easier to get the M4 by making my own ''pistols only'' room. You could probably still get a few in one of them rooms now coz they were always popular with players of all skill levels.

Just had a fond memory of once in a pistol room on KZ2 figureing out that if i crouched it made my hip fire about a million times more accurate, then trying it on other guns and realising it worked on them too.

I took my KDR from 0.70 to 1.01 in the last couple of months before KZ3 was released, I was such a noob and still am aaahhhhhhhhhhhhh happy days. (I came very late to KZ2 but still loved it).

Making your own pistols room would be a good idea but most pistols only rooms that others make have the m4 available. I ranked up a sub using the sta18 first and if you are ok with it then it is very easy as the other new players don't know what to do let alone how to shoot. It got to the point where the new guys would stop using the m82 and start to use the sta18 on me.

If you want an easy way to get the revolver, choose the assault class and switch to the Sta18. You can get pistol kills by using melee to kill now. This is how I did it, except I was in a pistols room with only the rifleman and the medic.

I don't know about this. maybe a year ago yes but recently I have made a few  new accounts KZGamers71, KZGamers71b and m64Bullets1Nade and have found the lower ranks to be full of new players.  I try and help them as much as I can by giving advice but most seem to ingnore it, this could be due to language barriers but I think its just because most of the new players have come from COD and are not sure about what to do most of the time.  Yes I still run into the odd CIC on a new acc and I hope they are doing this for the same reason as me, to enjoy levelling up and earning ribbons and medals again and not to ruin the fun for the lower ranks.
