Next-BOX Announced 6x Stronger than Current Gen

apparently it wil be about 6 times stronge than current the current 360 and 20% stronger than the Wii U. Meanwhile, Naughty Dog is hiring artists to sculpture million poly models, “this digital sculptor will be responsible for making million poly models game ready, and support highest-res characters for renderings”. This could possibly mean character models made up of 1 million polygons, compared to Uncharted 2's character poly count of 30,000, this couldmean the PS3 is far greater than 6X the power of current Gen consoles. Or it might only mean milion poly models for one map?

Hmm well from what I have read on CPU power alone Wii U is no more powerful than a PS3.

Cell is still rather powerful. RSX is the main problem.

There are mentions that PS4 is more powerful than Nextbox.

Anyway what does it matter?

Wii U is supposed to be 5x the power and if Xbox next is 6x the power... there you have your 20% more power. Wont be much difference between the two consoles if true.

Time for PS4 to trash both these consoles! The problem with PS3 was very low system ram (256mb) and weak RSX GPU (weaker GPU than 360's).

 BTW i dont believe this is true, BS rumor. M$ wont launch something so weak in 2 years.

really, the graphics boost is nice, but I hope Sony focuses on the little things.

1) not just cross game, but cross system chat.  Let us connect via PS4(maybe PS3 with a USB expansion box), Vita, PSP, Android, iPhone, and PC.  Why? because its nice to be able to contact people when they are not on the console currently to coordinate match times, or just to chat when you are playing your PC games or even start to get XBox users to pick it up.

2) open development for custom channels (googleTV, android, custom like Roku?).  We should have a Youtube channel by now, but open it up like the ROKU and you will find more people will spend all day on the PS3.  Twitch.Tv on the PS3 for watching the latest clan matches would be a nice touch.  they can restrict it so that nothing can run in the background of games to restrict cheating.  Apps could include things like TV channels or chat apps like Meebo or Mibbit(IRC).

3) rething the HOME strategy.  Home takes forever to load and returns so little to the user.  Unless they can get it faster to load (Much Much faster) and make it so that you can launch and spectate games while in HOME, its going to die and I doubt anyone will mourn its loss.

4) backwards compatible for real this time.  If I have to keep out my PS2, PS3, and PS4 I will be **bleep**.

5) competitive price.  The PS3 probably would have done better had it been at a better competitive price with the 360.  Yes the PS3 has Blu-Ray and a hard drive, but when it comes down to it in this economy, people will choose which ever will play COD98 for the cheapest price.  I hope Sony realizes that now.

polygons have nothing to do with better graphics. KZ3 has plenty of polygons on the animations. The problem is the jagged edges. Hopefully the new consoles will be able to eliminate the jagged edges. The PS4 will probably have graphics on par with KZ2 & 3's Intro movies. Which were pretty detailed themselves.
